Murder Rivals Sheriff

Complete Murder Rivals Sheriff guide: identify the Murderer, aim tips, avoid innocent kills, and win rounds as the law enforcement role.

Last updated: June 2026

The Sheriff is Murder Rivals’ highest-pressure role — armed with a single gun and the duty to stop the Murderer before all Innocents fall. Assigned to one player per round in 12-player lobbies on Place ID 5720801512, the Sheriff wins by correct identification, not trigger speed alone.

Developed by 한국머더, Murder Rivals punishes reckless Sheriff play: one Innocent kill ends your round and drops the gun for a potential Hero pickup. This guide covers identification, positioning, map tactics, and aim fundamentals.

How Sheriff Assignment Works

When a Standard round begins:

  1. One random player becomes Murderer
  2. One random player becomes Sheriff (not the Murderer)
  3. Up to ten players become Innocents
  4. Timer starts — Murderer must kill everyone or Sheriff/Hero must stop them

Identification Strategy

Murderers hide among Innocents. Watch for:

  • Behavioral tells — Players avoiding groups, circling coin spawns alone
  • Proximity kills — Bodies appearing after someone was nearby
  • Movement patterns — Erratic approach angles toward isolated targets
  • Reaction to Sheriff reveal — Some Murderers freeze or overcompensate

No single tell is proof — accumulate evidence before shooting.

Observation Phase

Early round: do not shoot. Collect coins like Innocents while scanning. Murderers often strike mid-round when attention drops.

Combat and Aim

Sheriff fires with left click (PC) or attack button (mobile). See PC Controls and Sheriff Aim guide.
